Providing Talk Therapy to Adults, Teens, and Families Online In CA & In Person In Santa Barbara

Hi, I’m Ali. I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach. I work with teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, difficult life experiences, and patterns that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. My training includes CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care.

I see therapy as a space to better understand yourself, make sense of what you have been through, and begin creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.

Who I Help

I work with teens, adults, and families who may feel overwhelmed by their emotions, have difficulty expressing what they need, find themselves overthinking or shutting down, or feel stuck in patterns they want to change.

You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing conflict in your relationships, having difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling unsure of how to move forward. Some clients come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others simply know that something does not feel right.

Wherever you are starting, we can work together to better understand what is getting in the way and identify changes that feel realistic and important to you.

How I Help

My approach is individualized and collaborative. I draw from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed approaches depending on your needs, goals, and preferences.

Together, we may work on understanding patterns, building skills to manage difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful beliefs, improving communication, strengthening relationships, and finding new ways to respond to situations that have left you feeling stuck.

I also consider the larger context of your life, including your relationships, identities, experiences, and the systems that may affect you. Therapy should not feel generic or one-size-fits-all. I want our work together to reflect who you are and what matters most to you.

Why I Help

I became a therapist because I have seen how powerful it can be to have a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and look more closely at the experiences and patterns shaping your life.

Internal struggles, difficult relationships, and experiences outside of our control can all create barriers to feeling like ourselves or living in the way we want to. I value helping clients understand those barriers with compassion while also finding practical ways to move forward.

Clients Appreciate

Clients appreciate my warmth, authenticity, and sense of humor. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be yourself and feel genuinely understood.

I take the time to learn your story, understand your relationships, and get to know what matters most to you. I believe meaningful therapy comes from creating a relationship where you feel supported, respected, and comfortable being honest about what you are going through.

Off The Clock

Outside of the therapy room, you can usually find me walking my dogs, heading to the movie theater to see the latest horror movie, playing video games, or spending time outside. Being in nature, especially near the ocean, is one of my favorite ways to recharge.
