Providing EMDR & Talk Therapy Online In CA & In Person In Santa Barbara

Hi, I’m Beth. I am a licensed clinical social worker and EMDR consultant, trained in attachment healing, parts work, and ACT, among other modalities. I specialize in helping people heal from the effects of trauma and difficult life experiences. I graduated with my masters degree from UCLA. As a certified yoga instructor, my practice is also firmly grounded in an understanding of the mind-body connection.

I am passionate about the work that I do and regularly participate in advanced trainings to continue growing my toolkit and expertise so that I can best help my clients in the deepest and most effective ways possible.

Who I Help

I help adults who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, self worth, and finding meaning, connection, and purpose in life.

Social media makes it look like everyone else has it together. Like everyone but you is leading an amazing, glamorous, adventurous life. You may be mindlessly scrolling through your social media feed of choice and feeling like you just don't stack up, like you are failing.

Even though we are seemingly more connected than ever through our devices, you may be feeling a deep sense of loneliness. Like even those that are closest to you don't really know you. The walls you've built around yourself to protect your heart keep you locked inside and leave you isolated.

You might experience a relentless stream of thoughts telling you that you're not good enough. These thoughts make it hard to feel comfortable in your own skin. You second guess everything you say and analyze all of your interactions, looking for flaws. Eventually, you might stop trying at all and instead avoid your own life. After all, you can't fail if you don't try.

None of us escape life without experiencing pain, but some of us are dealt a harder hand than others. You might have grown up in a home where you never heard "I love you" and instead heard "what's wrong with you?". Maybe hard things have happened to you that continue to bother you, things that you haven't opened up about before.

You might not be sure what direction you want to go in anymore. It could be that your job is wrong for you or you’re in an unfulfilling relationship, but you aren't sure what to do about it.

Why I Help

I became a therapist because I care more about what lives inside us all, within the walls we may have built for our own protection, than about the façade that we show the world. It is heartbreaking to me that so many people feel alone in this world, like they may be the only one living with their secret pain. I became a therapist to help people feel less alone and to live richer, more joyful lives.

How I Help

I have the training and skills necessary to help you find relief and to cultivate more joy in your life. You don't need to live with that constantly critical voice being in control of your life. You don’t need to stay trapped inside yourself or your past experiences.

I can be your advocate and show you a kinder and more supportive way to treat yourself.  Get the help you need to heal from painful experiences and start moving forward towards your dreams.

Clients Appreciate

My clients tell me that they feel like I get it - that often for the first time in life, they feel truly seen and understood. Clients tell me that they appreciate my insight, the connections I help them to discover, and the healing that they experience through our relationship.

Off The Clock

Off the clock, you’ll find me enjoying the beautiful nature of Santa Barbara with my dogs and husband. I love traveling and find that exploring new places can shake up my perspective and help me to be more engaged in the present. In general, yoga, my dogs, nature, and watching shows that make me laugh (like The Office) are my medicine.
