Heart Centered Hypnotherapy

Heart Centered Hypnotherapy is a powerful and effective method of hypnotherapy that can help you bypass the barriers of your conscious mind to uncover and release deeply rooted feelings and beliefs.

Heart Centered Hypnotherapy will help you to connect a current challenge to a past experience that may have led you to develop unhelpful beliefs and behaviors. This work then allows for a deep reprocessing of painful past experiences, where you can experientially connect with and release old stuck feelings, connect to your wise self for insight and healing, and learn to develop a deep sense of compassion and care for any wounded younger parts of yourself.

This can be incredibly effective for treating the effects of painful or traumatic experiences, which may now manifest as anxiety, depression, low self worth, disconnection from self and others, and compulsive behaviors. This method of hypnotherapy is remarkably clarifying and provides deep transformation typically more quickly than traditional talk therapy. The client is an active and aware participant throughout this process.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep focused relaxation. We experience hypnotic or trance states naturally in our everyday lives - this may be through meditating, being  absorbed in the flow of creating, getting immersed in a favorite song, or even when daydreaming or watching TV. It is a natural state of mind that we can learn to cultivate on purpose and to utilize for deeper healing.

Hypnotherapy vs. Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy is not the same as hypnosis.  Hypnotherapy is always performed by a licensed mental health professional - many people claim to be hypnotherapists when they are rightfully hypnotists.

Under hypnosis, change is facilitated by leading a client into a trance state and providing helpful  suggestions to encourage meaningful change. The mind is more open to suggestions when in a state of hypnosis.

While hypnotherapists utilize the relaxed state of hypnosis and may also use hypnotic suggestions, they can also go far deeper by providing mental health therapy while clients are in this hypnotic state and have more access to their subconscious mind and deeper feelings.

Hypnotherapy vs. Hypnosis Example

We could utilize hypnosis to help you quit smoking by providing hypnotic suggestions that you now find cigarettes repulsive and have no desire to smoke. While this can sometimes be enough to create the intended change, it does not get to the root of the behavior.

If you receive hypnosis for smoking cessation, you may find that you develop a different substitute behavior (for instance emotional eating or online shopping), since the underlying beliefs have not shifted that led to smoking in the first place.

In contrast, hypnotherapy would help you to uncover the experiences and connected beliefs that led you to smoke and then would help you to create new beliefs and new behaviors for yourself. You may find that in addition to no longer wanting to smoke, you also release many other connected unhealthy behaviors, as you develop an improved outlook on yourself and life in general and deeply heal the roots of the behavior.

Both hypnosis and hypnotherapy are helpful tools, hypnotherapy just goes far deeper and may generalize to many more areas of life.
